Jessica Chastain to Portray Marilyn Monroe in Upcoming Biopic BLONDE

Harpersbazaar.com reports that actress Jessica Chastain will take on the role of screen legend Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's upcoming biopic, BLONDE. The director penned the script as well.

The project will be produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B and Worldview Entertainment will be based on Joyce Carol Oates's 2001 novel of the same name. According to the report, "the story takes biographical and historical sources to paint an intimate picture of the inner life of Norma Jeane Baker."

Chastain made her Broadway debut in the revival of 'The Heiress' opposite Dan Stevens. She has received major accolades for her roles in films like Ralph Fiennes' CORIOLANUS, John Madden's THE DEBT,John Hillcoat's LAWLESS, Jeff Nichols' TAKE SHELTER, Terrence Malick's THE TREE OF LIFE and Tate Taylor's THE HELP

She was recently seen on the big screen in Andrés Muschietti's MAMA and Katherine Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, for which she recently won Best Actress at the National Board of Review, the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama.

She will next be seen on the big screen in Miss Julie, Interstellar and Crimson Peak.
