WWD has reported that Harrods has made two internal promotions after the resignation of chief merchant Marigay McKee's. As previously announced, McKee is leaving Harrods to become president of Saks Fifth Avenue later this year.

Helen David has been promoted to fashion director of women's wear, accessories, fine jewelry and children's wear, and Jason Broderick will become fashion director of men's wear, sports and watches.

Both are new positions, and David and Broderick will report to Michael Ward, Harrods' managing director, who said, "Both are excellent merchants with an exceptional eye for luxury, playing an integral part in developing the world-class offer that Harrods is known for."

David has worked at Harrods for six years, and oversaw the redesign and layout of the International Designer Rooms, as well as the launch of Fashion Lab on the store's fourth floor, and the soon-to-be-launched Fine Jewellery Room on the ground floor.

Broderick joined Harrods in 1998 and was previously general merchandise manager of men's wear, sports and watches. He will continue to oversee "three of the key growth areas for the business," Harrods said.
