The cell phone controversies and commentaries continue!

Multi-Tony Award nominated Broadway hit Hand to God recently experienced its own incident with an audience member attempting to charge a cell phone onstage and now the production voices its support for Broadway superstar Patti LuPone's very vocal stance on disallowing texting and cell phone usage during performances following a buzz-worthy incident earlier this week.

Earlier today, it was reported that LuPone admonished an attendee at SHOWS FOR DAYS who was texting during a performance, going so far as to remove the patron's cell phone during a portion of the show, as BroadwayWorld reported here.

Now, HAND TO GOD has released a new social media image paying homage to LuPone's iconic Tony Award-winning role in EVITA and joining LuPone in the anti-cell phone charge, commenting, "We're definitely on #TeamPatti! #HandtoGodBway".

The official description of Hand to God is as follows: "After a smash downtown run that earned rave reviews and a Critics' Pick from The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Magazine, this new American Play comes to Broadway. The hilarious and provocative Hand to God centers on shy, inquisitive student Jason, who finds an outlet for his burgeoning creativity at the Christian Puppet Ministry in the devoutly religious, relatively quiet small town of Cypress, Texas. Jason's complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the girl next door and-most especially-his mother are thrown into further upheaval when Jason's hand puppet, Tyrone, takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own. Hand to God explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us."
