Award winning actor-writer Eric Bogosian will read excerpts from and sign copies of his new novel Perforated Heart this Tuesday, May 5 at 7pm at Barnes & Noble Union Square (33 East 17th Street).  Tuesday also marks the publication date of the novel which is published by Simon and Schuster.

Bogosian’s third novel, Perforated Heart is a meditative and lacerating portrait of a writer, from callow young man to aging literary lion.  Drawing on his own experiences and observations in the vortex of New York’s downtown underground arts scene in the 70s and 80s, Bogosian crafts a double narrative that slyly moves back and forth between now and then, underscoring the psychological cost of ambition and fame.

Eric Bogosian is best known for writing and starring in the play and the film adaptation of the play, Talk Radio (NYSF - 1987). For this work he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and received the Berlin Film Festival "Silver Bear Award." Recently revived on Broadway starring Liev Schreiber, Talk Radio was nominated for two 2007 Tony Awards.  He is also well known for his six solo performances Off-Broadway (Men Inside, FunHouse, Drinking in America, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll, Pounding Nails in the Floor With My Forehead, Wake Up and Smell The Coffee) for which he received three Obie awards and a Drama Desk Award. He is also the author of the full-length plays subUrbia (LCT), Griller (Goodman), Red Angel"(Williamstown Theater Festival), Humpty Dumpty  (McCarter) and 1 + 1  (NY Stage and Film). As an actor, Bogosian has appeared in numerous films and television programs, starring in Robert Altman's The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, Atom Egoyan's Ararat, Under Siege II and Wonderland. He currently co-stars as Capt. Danny Ross on  Law & Order:Criminal Intent on the USA Network.
