The Wrap writes that Dennis Haysbert (24) just joined TED 2, the follow-up to 2011's TED, in addition to the upcoming zombie film DEAD RISING from director Zach Lipovsky.

In the first TED film, Mark Wahlberg plays 'John', a perfectly normal Boston native whose childhood wish for his Teddy Bear to come to life comes true. The bear (Ted) remains his best friend well into his adult years. Conflict emerges when Ted's irresponsible and vulgar slacker lifestyle comes in the way of John's attempt to embrace his adulthood and the woman of his dreams, Lori (Mila Kunis).

Haysbert is set for a cameo role in TED 2, helmed by Seth MacFarlane from his script with Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. Also in the cast are Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Morgan Freeman, with MacFarlane returning as the voice of 'Ted'. TED 2 will hit theaters on June 26, 2015.

DEAD RISING, written by Tim Carter, is "set during an epic zombie outbreak that a mandatory government vaccine failed to stop". The movie is based on the video game franchise of the same name. Haysbert will play a lead role in the project.

Among Haysbert's upcoming big screen projects are Men, Women & Children, Dear White People, Omaha Street, Experimenter, Baby, Baby, Baby and Santos. He recently appeared in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Think Like a Man Too. The actor also starred in 2009's Race on Broadway.
