42's Chadwick Boseman has lined up his next big screen project.

According to Deadline, Boseman, currently filming the James Brown biopic GET ON UP, has signed on for Alex Proyas' upcoming period film GODS OF EGYPT, based on anciet Egyptian mythology. Proyas co-wrote the script with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Boseman joins Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, and Courtney Eaton in the film. He'll take on the role of the legendary god 'Thoth', otherwise known as the god of wisdom.

Summit Entertainment has set 'GODS' for a Feb. 12, 2016 release.

Boseman's next big screen projects are Draft Day and the James Brown biopic Get On Up. He last starred as Jackie Robinson in 42. Boseman's TV credits include Persons Unknown, Lincoln Heights, and he has recently appeared in episodes of Fringe, Justified, Detroit 1-8-7, Castle and The Glades. Also a screenwriter and playwright, Boseman's works include Hieroglyphic Graffiti, Deep Azure and Rhyme Deferred.
