According to Ken Davenport, lead producer for the upcoming revival of GODSPELL, a cast recording will be made for the new production. In his September 21st "Day by Day" blog, Davenport enthusiastically writes, "Oh, we are doing it. I'm not going to let these 10 amazing performers sing this score without putting it down on disc...It's just a question of how and when and to what degree of awesome it will be."

Davenport will be weighing the options of having a big label record and pay for the album or recording it independently. "At the end of the day, I have to decide what is better for the show not only from a financial perspective...but from a marketing perspective as well.

The Tony-nominated score was written by Stephen Schwartz, Grammy-winning composer of "Wicked" and "Pippin", and John-Michael Tebelak and includes such classics as "Day by Day", "Learn Your Lessons Well" and "Turn Back O Man". The cast includes Hunter Parrish ("Spring Awakening", Showtime's "Weeds"), Telly Leung ("Glee", "Wicked") and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle (TV's "Hannah Montana" and "Camp Rock")

Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), GODSPELL begins preview performances at Circle in the Square Theatre (1663 Broadway at 50th Street) on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Opening Night is Monday, November 7, 2011.

Tickets to GODSPELL are available by calling Telecharge.com at 212-239-6200. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Circle in the Square Theatre Box Office.
