Yesterday, May 23, the company of Godspell celebrated their Academy Award-winning writer Stephen Schwartz in a one-night-only concert featuring songs from Schwartz's Pippin, Wicked, The Baker's Wife, The Magic Show, Working, My Son Pinocchio, Children of Eden, Rags, "Pocahontas", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", "The Prince of Egypt", "Enchanted" and more. The concert benefits Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS. Check out highlights fro the concert below!

Following an afternoon of open-call auditions for kids last month in which more than 500 kids (ages six to 16) were seen, the creative and producing team of GODSPELL selected five boys and five girls (plus one 'swing') to perform a special encore number at the curtain call on Tuesday, May 22. Hundreds of hopeful actors, ages 6 to 16, showed up at the Circle in the Square Theatre today, April 25, to audition for the Broadway musical GODSPELL. The audition panel, including director Daniel Goldstein, is looking to fill 10 roles in the show. About 300 kids, including Holly Block, Gaten Matarazzo and Ellis Gage, who are featured in the video below, performed 16 measures of music for the panel.

Beginning Tuesday, March 6, for the first time in Broadway history, fans of the hit musical revival of GODSPELL can listen online for free to exclusive creative team audio commentary of the performance from the show's legendary composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and director Daniel Goldstein.

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's rock musical GODSPELL is currently playing at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli, the show opened on Monday, November 7. This afternoon, the cast visited Barnes & Noble, where they treated visitors to a special performance and signed copies of the just-released album. Produced by Stephen Schwartz, Michael Holland and Kurt Deutsch with Executive Producer Ken Davenport, the CD will be available in stores on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
