Carrie Preston, who recently appeared in The Rivals at Lincoln Center, will make her feature film debut as a director with Daisytodd Productions' festival hit 29th and Gay, of which she will also be the executive producer.  Written by and co-starring fellow Juilliard classmate James Vasquez (Merry Wives of Windsor, NYSF), the film features original songs written and performed by Malcolm Gets (Amour, A New Brain) and John Avila of Oingo Boingo.

29th and Gay recently played to a sold-out audience at NewFest, the 17th Annual New York Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.  Named one of the Best of NewFest, 29th and Gay will return to New York for a special "Best of NewFest at BAM" screening on Sunday, August 28th.  The film co-stars Kali Rocha (Noises Off, In the Summer House), Mike Doyle (Burning Blue, Boys & Girls), and Michael Emerson (Gross Indecency, The Iceman Cometh, and Hedda Gabler).

Preston has also performed on Broadway in Indiscretions and The Tempest, and off-Broadway in Boys and Girls, Chaucer in Rome, Straight Jacket, Antony and Cleopatra and Freedomland.  On screen, she has acted in The Stepford Wives, The Legend of Bagger Vance, Cradle Will Rock, My Best Friend's Wedding and others; Preston was also featured on the series "Emeril."
