According to EW, CBS's Criminal Minds will be putting a bow on a storyline Meshach Taylor (Designing Women) began in Season 8 of the drama. The actor passed away in June at the age of 67 after a long battle with cancer.

Taylor first appeared as 'Harrison Scott', Rossi's "former marine sergeant who fell on hard times and ended up a homeless vet after Vietnam"; his character returned again in Season 9 to "help Scott reunite with his long-lost son".

In Season 10 of CRIMINAL MINDS, Joe Mantegna will direct an episode that "brings a sense of closure to Scott's storyline". Mantegna and Taylor were friends for more than 40 years, said executive producer Erica Messer, adding that "Joe really wanted to honor the friendship and Meshach's professional life...It'll be really touching."

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most Twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. The Behavioral Analysis Unit's most experienced agent is David Rossi, a founding member of the BAU, who is essential in helping the team solve new cases. The BAU team is lead by Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, a strong profiler who is able to gain people's trust and unlock their secrets. Other members include Special Agent Derek Morgan, an expert on obsessional crimes; Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid, a classically misunderstood genius whose social IQ is as low as his intellectual IQ is high; Jennifer "J.J." Jareau, the team's former unit liaison-turned-profiler; Penelope Garcia, the team's indispensible computer wizard who helps research the cases with her unique charm, and the team's newest member, Kate Callahan, a seasoned undercover agent whose standout work with the FBI landed her a coveted position with the BAU. As the team evolves together, the BAU continues its dedication to using their expertise to pinpoint predators' motivations and identify their emotional triggers in the attempt to stop them.
