Preview performances for the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Clybourne Park will begin tonight on Broadway. The acclaimed work by Bruce Norris, and directed by Pam McKinnon, will have its official Opening Night at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Thursday, April 19, for a limited 16-week engagement.

In a statement, producer Jordan Roth commented, “We are thrilled to finally welcome Broadway audiences to Clybourne Park.  The Kerr has been home to so many seminal Pulitzer Prize-winning plays – Angels in America, Doubt, The Piano Lesson, Proof – and we’re so proud that Clybourne Park will continue that legacy.”

Additionally, Roth announced today that a limited number of general rush tickets will be available for all performances of Bruce Norris’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Clybourne Park at the Walter Kerr, beginning previews tonight for a limited 16-week engagement (Opening Night is set for April 19).  Rush tickets will be available on the day of the performance, at the Box Office beginning at 10:00 a.m.  for $30.  Limit 2 per customer.

Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and London’s Olivier Award for Best Play, Clybourne Park is described as a "wickedly funny and fiercely provocative new play about race, real estate and the volatile values of each.  Clybourne Park explodes in two outrageous acts set 50 years apart.  Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification."

Clybourne Park received its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in 2010 and just completed a critically acclaimed pre-Broadway engagement at Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. The highly praised original cast will reprise their roles for the Broadway run, including Crystal A. DickinsonBrendan GriffinDamon GuptonChristina KirkAnnie ParisseJeremy Shamos and Frank Wood.

The design team features Daniel Ostling (sets), Ilona Somogyi (costumes), Allen Lee Hughes (lights), and John Gromada (sound).
