Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of dining at Robert's Steakhouse at the Penthouse Executive Club on Manhattan's West side. Open for dinner starting at 5:00 pm, Robert's is an excellent destination for pre-theater dining or an evening on the town. We visited early on a Monday night and enjoyed the wonderful food and extraordinary service. Located on the second floor of the venue, Robert's has a stylish appeal with comfortable seating and cool lighting. And, the noise level is just right for table conversation.

We met Chef Jayson Marguiles who takes pride in preparing gourmet cuisine for his guests. Sourcing food locally, he regularly visits farmer's markets in the city and creates vibrant seasonal menus. As Chef Marguiles pointed out, "With our commitment to the best, we start with the best ingredients."

Robert's features prime beef that is dry aged in-house, and a fine selection of other entrees that include seafood and pasta. There are side dishes that round out your meal perfectly. Your individual preferences can be easily accommodated with a vegetarian entree or gluten free choices. Don't hesitate to speak to your server about dietary preferences.

We started with the Robert's Salad ($21). This delectable blend of avocado, seafood and greens is topped with an Asian dressing that gives it just the right flavor. On the lighter side, there is also Mixed Baby Greens ($14) with a Shallot Vinaigrette. Their Asian Style Tuna Tartare ($24) is the best we've ever had and the Sauté Maryland Crabcake ($21) with Red Pepper Aioli and Micro Greens is completely crabmeat with perfect seasoning. Menu choices are beautifully presented, making your dining experience a real pleasure.

Robert's is known for delicious steak, prepared to your exact taste. Their Filet Mignon ($51) couldn't be better. The Pan Roasted Wild Salmon with Soy Glaze ($36) is a popular entrée and there is nightly seafood special. Generous sides include favorites like Creamed Spinach, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms and Steamed Asparagus (All $14). With a vintage wine list, wonderful cocktails, and sumptuous desserts, we look forward to dining at Robert's again and again.

Singles, couples, and groups of friends would enjoy dinner at Robert's Steakhouse. The bar and club atmosphere gets started later in the evening and it is one that works very well for special events, business gatherings and party groups. You can find the same delicious menu choices when you visit Robert's Steakhouse at Scores which features sports bar appeal.

Reservations are suggested. For more information, go to www.pecnyc.com and visit the Robert's Steakhouse section to learn more about fine dining choices.
