Welcome to Dosai located in Curry Hill, an area well known for Indian restaurants in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. They have a delightful menu of South Indian Vegetarian cuisine that is also kosher. Renowned Chef, Hemant Mathur is behind the concept of this casual, yet stylish eatery.

We especially like that Dosai presents dishes that are ideal for table sharing. It's a great spot to have a good meal while relaxing with friends or family. We stopped by on a Monday night and enjoyed the extraordinary food and service.

Dosai's beverages are perfect to compliment lunch or dinner. We had one of our favorites, their Mango Lassi. Smooth and creamy, it has just the right touch of sweetness to partner with savory meal choices.

We started our culinary journey at Dosai with some of their starters. We took our time to enjoy Steamed Idli, steamed rice and lentil cake served with a tasty variety of chutneys and sambhar. Each chutney had a distinctive flair to compliment the rice and lentil cake. It was impossible to pick a favorite. And as a "Mini-Meal" we had the Adai Avial, a crispy lentil pancake, served with a delicious fresh vegetable curry.

The dosai or dosa is a thin Indian crepe that can be filled or garnished. We had the Masala Dosai stuffed with spiced potatoes. When it arrives at your table, the large size is as tantalizing as the wonderful taste.

You will not want to leave without sampling one of the South Indian Entrees like the Keerai Masiyal, spinach and lentils tempered with dry red chilies or the Banana Varuval, crispy sautéed green bananas with house blend spices. The food at Dosai is seasoned to perfection making each menu item worth relishing.

Try the freshly made breads like the whole wheat Chapati or the pan grilled Protta. Spiced Rice selections have a distinctive flair like the Coconut Rice or Tomato Rice. These side dishes are fine accompaniments for any meal.

We know you will like Dosai. Their delicious food, gracious service and a good price point all in a lovely setting will make it one of your favorite Indian restaurants.

Dosai is open for both lunch and dinner seven days a week. They are located at 104 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10016. Online ordering is available. Call them at (212) 684-4010 or visit their web site: http://www.dosainyc.com/.
