Gunnar and Scarlett are sitting in the same spot they were nearly two years ago, listening to Rayna James go on about how talented they are, and how much she needs to work with them. Although this time around, The Exes are barely making eye contact. I want to say I like them better in a personal relationship than a professional one, but damn they do make good music.

Coercion, embezzlement, and solicitation are just some of the charges Teddy is facing (like father, like son-in-law...literally). His way out? Wearing a wire and completing the illegal activity Lamar started prior to his death. What goes around, comes around.

Juliette and Avery seem all over the place in every upisode, and while the newlyweds seem to be living happily ever after, something is clearly irking Juliette. She's back to performing, she's back in the spotlight, and things with Avery are fantastic. The only factor is her new daughter, shining hidden meaning on her whisper of "I almost feel like my old self." Which can make us a bit synpathic until she gets so entirely caught up on her album that stress turns into neglect.

Nothing stays quiet for long in NASHVILLE, and Deacon's cancer is no exception. As soon as word hits, the radios are abuzz, Highway 65's phones are ringing off the hook, and Rayna recieves a package... a returned, torn-up check of $1,000,000 made out to Bevely Claybourne.

After two seasons of keeping quiet about his family, we meet Will Lexington's father. Just as things are heating up with Kevin. Something tells me this is not a coincidence. And it's not- Will's father kicked him to the curb and told him he wished he'd never been born, presumably because he's gay. Kyle knows the entire backstory, and we're slowly but surely catching on.

Jeff Fordham continues the streak of immaturity by inciting a Twitter battle between Layla and Jade- if only for his own, petty, jealous reasons. Venting time: HE IS SUCH AN ASS. A two-faced, lying, manipulative, immature ass. If there was ever a character we love to hate, Jeff Fordham is it ten times over.

Nothing is quite as heartbreaking as Rayna's meltdown. Playing their old records, she completely breaks down to Deacon, letting all of the stress, anger, anxiety, and frustration out in the form of tears. It's adorable. It's tragic. It's ten thousand different things. It's fantastic to see such a dynamic Rayna. She's not just the "all together" mother and superstar, she's an emotional human being who is in love with Deacon Claybourne. And as much as the circumstances suck beyond belief, it's sort of a moment we've been waiting for since the beginning of the show. Don't shoot the messenger. All is well (temporarily) when the two sing a beautiful duet at the Blue Bird, just like old times. Because, as they put it, "music has been there for all of us through hard times." Which is sort of the theme of the entire show.

Juliette's diagnosis is postpartum depression. Faced with Avery, her doctor, and her staff, she's faced with what a pretty serious issue. Enraged (of course), she leaves- but this is the beginning of an entirely new issue, and another heartbreaking story arc for Juliette Barnes.

And while we're so concerned of Will Lexington's father finding out about his new relationship, we completely missed the fact that the rest of the world may soon know, too. Luke Wheeler comes face to face with incriminating photos of Kevin and Will, as well as a promise that they're being put to press in a week.

But Rayna and Deacon may be getting their happily ever after. Beverly shows up, braver than ever and ready to help her brother live.

Do you think Beverly will follow thru with her promise to give Deacon her liver? With the season finale next week, what do you think will happen with Deacon and Rayna? Let me know in the comments or tweet @WendiReichstein.
