On this week's episode of SUPERGIRL, Kara tried to deal with a nasty alien on her own without the help of the DEO. Laura Vandervoort guest starred as Indigo, a cyber villian who wreaked havoc on National City with a massive computer hacking. Kara learned the hard way that she needs the help of her friends...and some relationships fell apart while others fell together.

When Alex shows up at Kara's door with donuts, she knows that something is up. Alex says it's to celebrate her coming back to the DEO, but Kara is quick to correct her that she isn't returning. She can't forgive Hank for killing Astra, despite Alex's pleading. "Maybe it's time for me to be my own SUPERGIRL," Kara says.

Back at the office, Cat receives a thumb drive in the mail that contains the information from a hack of a cheating website. Cat says that she won't publish it, against the hacker's wishes, even though Lucy presses her to expose the people using the site.

James brings Kara potstickers (truly, a man after my heart) and she tells him that he can't tell Lucy that she's SUPERGIRL. Lucy shows up, interrupting their chat, and brings up the hack. "There's nothing I hate more than liars," she tells them.

Suddenly, the hacker takes over all the screens in CatCo. The pretty blonde woman tells Cat, "I'm dissappointed in all of you, especially you, Queen of all Media." She says that computers control everything and that she will mess up everything in the city. "The age of chaos begins now," she declares.

All the traffic lights in the city turn to green and lots of wrecks start occurring. Kara goes running off to help out, Winn finds the location of a big wreck about to occur, and James tells Kara where to go. Honestly, I never fail to be impressed by their team work! Kara saves a family who would have been killed without her help.

The cyber terrorist attack is affecting everything from banks to National City's infrastructure. Lucy tells James that the Pentagon is working on the attack and is offended when it becomes clear that he's going to SUPERGIRL for help and not her. He suggests that they get dinner that night, in an attempt to pacify her.

Kara, James, and Winn are in Kara's apartment while Winn tries to figure out how to write a code that will allow them to find the hacker. Suddenly, the hacker takes over his laptop and comes through the computer. Honestly, I think of all the villains we've seen thus far, Indigo is the one that scares me the most. I definitely don't want any monsters coming out of my computer or phone screen! Kara recognizes the symbol on her forehead, but can't place her. She throws Kara out the window and attacks Winn and James, but Hank and Alex come in just in time. I loved Winn's comment: "Oh thank God, we have our own BLACK OPS unit."

Indigo tracks down Non and tells him, "I am my own woman now; I hear you're your own man again." Non defends Astra, but it's clear that he and Indigo have a romantic past. She says that she's come to show him that Astra's plan to live alongside the humans is ridiculous.

When Siobhan attacks the copy machine, Winn helps her out. She reveals that her dad was a member of the website that the hack was targeted at and has been cheating on her mother for years. Then, Alex shows up at CatCo...but she's not looking for Kara. She tells her sister, "I didn't come for you. I came for Winn." Any one else super excited to see Winn finally get recognized for his skills? After checking with Kara that it's okay to go (bless him), he goes off to the DEO to try to hack into Indigo's code.

Meanwhile, James takes Kara to the Fortress of Solitude to help her figure out what to do. He explains that it's a place that Superman goes when he needs to think. A cute little robot helper appears and explains to Kara that Indigo was from the planet of Colu and was the most dangerous prisoner in Fort Rozz. James suggests that they should tell Hank, but Kara is adamant that they don't. When James tells her that she doesn't have to fight her battles alone, she responds, "I'm not alone. I'm with you."

The next day, James tells Lucy what he discovered about the hacker and Lucy calls him out for forgetting about their date. Kara offers Lucy Cat's rejected latte and asks if she's okay. Kara tries to comfort her by telling her that James is very committed and she brings up the story of how James's dad gave him his first camera. It's clear that Lucy's never heard the story. Kara tells Lucy, "James is an amazing guy. He could be with whoever he wants and he chose you." Um, Kara? Your crush is showing...

Kara tells James that she misses Hank and Alex and Winn. "I save the world better when I save it with people," she says. He responds, "Well you're saving it with me." I'll admit that I wasn't always on board with the Kara/James ship...but this episode definitely converted me. Lucy walks in to tell them that General Jonathan Mathers was one of the people involved in the hack. She's realized that the hack was a Trojan horse for Indigo to infiltrate Mather's control of nuclear capabilities.

While Mathers is in the nuclear base, he gets a call on his cell phone and Indigo appears out of it. She takes out all of the army guys, but then Kara arrives on the scene and a fight ensues in which Indigo manages to press the launch button.

A nuclear missile is headed for National City and Kara finally admits that she needs help and calls Hank. She stops the missile with his advice and returns to the base to keep Indigo from launching another missile. Indigo reaches her arm through the phone and starts to strangle Winn. He quips, "You're just a glorified Windows Vista" and writes a code that messes her up. (Okay, I don't really understand how that worked.) I'm so happy that Winn finally saved himself. Don't get me wrong -- I love the strong women on this show, but I really was waiting for Winn to come into his own.

Before crumbling away, Indigo tells Kara that she wouldn't have gotten to earth without her help because she found her in the Phantom Zone and activated her pod. Clearly, Kara has mixed feelings about this revelation.

At the office, Winn tells Siobhan that he has family issues too. He says, "I know how it feels when someone like that lets you down." And then she suddenly kisses him. I mean, not that I blame her, but if I didn't like her before, I certainly don't like her now. (She doesn't deserve him, okay? Yes, I'm a bit of a Winn fangirl.)

Kara tells James that she didn't want him to tell Lucy her secret because she liked working together with just him, but she tells him that he can tell Lucy. However, when he goes to tell Lucy, she breaks things off with him. She said that she finally realized that SUPERGIRL wasn't the issue; Kara was. "Because you love her," Lucy explains. "And for what it's worth, she feels the same way." I wasn't always Lucy's biggest fan but she definitely deserves better than a man who's in love with someone else and I really admire that the writers chose to let her be the one to break things off with him.

My favorite part of the episode was the very end in which Kara returned to the DEO and told Hank that she realized that they need each other, if only professionally. Alex suddenly snaps and admits that she killed Astra to save Hank and that he took the blame for her. Chyler's performance was stunning, as always, as she admitted, "I was afraid of losing you." Instead of walking out, Kara hugs her and stops Hank from leaving too. The image of Alex and Kara hugging with Kara holding Hank's hand was so powerful. I love this little family that they've created.

Who's your favorite villain from SUPERGIRL thus far? What do you think Non's planning? How excited are you for THE FLASH crossover episode? Let me know on Twitter at @nicoleackman16 or in the comments.
