Artemis Theatrical Kicks Off Its First Season with Cabaret of New Work, HEAR US ROAR!

Artemis Theatrical is opening its first season with HEAR US ROAR, a cabaret of all new songs written about the woman's perspective, at The Duplex on September 12th, 9:30pm.
Artemis Theatrical is a non-profit cabaret company whose mission is to empower women storytellers in musical theatre. Artemis curates and produces cabarets of new work written by women. And it's first cabaret is geared towards celebrating their perspective.
"We want to create more opportunities for women writers to showcase their work to the public," said Manda Leigh Blunt, Artistic/Executive Director. "I am a woman and a writer, and so many of my friends are women writers. There have been countless conversations about not getting any opportunities to be able to have our work seen, and being stalled on the long and arduous road of musical theatre development. I thought, 'Okay, if no one is going to give us the opportunity to show the world what we can do, we're going to make our own.'" And thus, Artemis Theatrical was born.
HEAR US ROAR is directed by Laura Barati, music directed by Minhui Lee, and features songs by Artemis Artists Helen Goldwyn, Natalie Lovejoy, May-Elise Martinsen, Chandra McClelland, Germain Shames, Laura Barati, Melissa Miles, Dylan Zwickel, Lise Miller, Rachel Peters, Kay Clark, Emily Roller, Pamela Grayson, Sadie Soohyun Cho, HanSol Kim, and Rachel Dean.
HEAR US ROAR will be performed on September 12th, 2016 at 9:30 pm at The Duplex, 61 Christopher Street, New York NY. Tickets are $15 online at PurplePass, $20 at the door, with a two drink minimum during the performance.
