Although the musical was written in 1965 it has never been performed to the public until now. In a concert recorded at the Mermaid Theatre in London, the BBC Concert Orchestra is joined by a star studded cast, headed by Stephen Fry as the narrator under the direction of Simon Lee. Introduced by Paul Gambaccini.

Coinciding with the centenary of his death, 'The Likes Of Us' is the story of the life of Dr Thomas Barnardo, a man who was evangelical, entrepreneurial and philanthropic, and whose crusade to rescue children living on the streets became world renowned.

The show will be broadcast on Friday October 21st at 7.30pm on BBC Radio.

The album will be released on Monday October 17th, but is available for order now on Really Useful's web site.
