Adventure Theatre MTC brings the sights and sounds of Louisiana to Glen Echo Park with its upcoming production Petite Rouge, A Cajun Red Riding Hood from January 30 through March 8. This family-friendly, Zydeco-driven musical was adapted from the book by Mike Artell and Jim Harris by D.C. native Joan Cushing. Petite Rouge is directed and choreographed by ATMTC Producing Artistic Director Michael J. Bobbitt with musical direction by Darius Smith.

Based on the classic fairy tale, a red-hooded duckling named Petite Rouge and her sidekick cat lead the Big Bad Gator on a wild "duck" chase through New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Will they make it to Grandmere's house with a basket full of Cajun goodies?

"Mike Artell started the 'good times rollin' by setting Little Red Riding Hood in the Bayou, but Joan Cushing's adaptation has infused it with so much of New Orleans' culture, it'll feel like Mardi Gras in the theater!," says Director Michael J. Bobbitt.

The title role will be played by Brittany Williams. Ms. Williams was last seen on the ATMTC stage as Nansi in Bob Marley's Three Little Birds in 2013, for which she received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. Both Ms. Williams and Bob Marley's Three Little Birds went on to perform at the New Victory Theater on 42nd Street in New York City, New York.
