Full of laughs and reminiscences, Actors Point Theatre Company takes you on the ultimate, classic family road trip in the hysterically funny production of Leaving Iowa. Remember those family vacations you tried to forget? Don's Browning's memories of family road trips come to life as he travels cross-country to scatter his father's ashes. Packed with rollicking good humor, this celebration of family reminds us that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.

Written by Tim Clue and Spike Manton and directed by Greg Wilson, Leaving Iowa opens on September 27. The show runs September 27, 28 and October 4 and 5 at 7:30 pm and September 29 and October 6 for a 3:00 pm matinee.

Stand-up comedians Tim Clue and Spike Manton teamed up to tackle issues of family and the Midwest in their hit play Leaving Iowa. Tim Clue explains, "Leaving Iowa is a postcard to anyone who has ever found themselves driving alone on a road, revisiting fond memories of their youth." Actors Point Theatre Company's production is directed by Artistic Director director Greg Wilson. "This play is simply funny and amazingly touching at the same time. I love when a theatrical piece can allow you to easily insert yourself into it and give a chance you to take a good laugh at yourself", says Wilson.

Leaving Iowa has delighted audiences of all ages across the country! This one is truly great for the entire family!

This production features the talents of Jaye Phelps as Don Browning , the Son. Phelps is fresh from a very successful run as Flute in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. Others included in the cast are Nashville theatre veterans Mark Mazzone and Drew Ann Borsos as Don's parents and new-comer Abigail Ebensberger as Sis. The production is rounded out by the versatile Kris Wente who plays 13 characters and Morgan Lamberth who plays 9 characters. These multi-character roles add to the fun and convention of the show and give us a chance to look back at what we were thinking as kids when we encountered such tourist attractions as the Amish Flea Market, Ghost Caverns and the local Civil War re-enactors - to name just a few.
