Co-artistic directors Anthony Krutzkamp and Logan Pachciarz today announced the performances for the fifth anniversary of the Kansas City Dance Festival, scheduled for June 16th-24th. On June 16th at 7:30 p.m. a Quixotic Black Box studio performance entitled "Explorations" will feature all new works on the cutting edge of dance. On June 24th there will be a 7:30 p.m. Main Stage "Artist Residency Performance" at the Folly Theater Downtown. Polyphonia by Christopher Wheeldon

International choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's Neoclassical work "Polyphonia" has received rave reviews for Miami City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet. Wheeldon has choreographed on the worlds most renowned ballet companies The Royal Ballet Covent Garden, American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, and now in Kansas City.

World Premiere by Andrea Schermoly

Andrea Schermoly brings with her the background and skill of the worlds best contemporary dance company, Netherlands Dance Theater. This prolific choreographer is known for her seamless style and grace coupled with an intuitive sense of realism.

World Premiere by Adam Hougland

Julliard Graduate and American sensation Adam Hougland's work has been seen all over the country. Known for his melding of modern and classical movement, Adam is the perfect addition to bring the breadth of dance to the evening!

World Premiere by Ryan Nye

Former Kansas City Ballet dancer Ryan Nye most recently won an award for "Outstanding Choreographer" from the prestigious YAGP Dance Competition 2017! We are proud to present him next to international level choreographers. As Ryan's career is budding, this represents a perfect opportunity for dancers to experience his transformative style.

World Premiere by Jennifer Owen

As a Kansas City mainstay and Artistic Director of Owen Cox Dance Group, Jennifer will be creating a "Pas De Deux" (Dance for Two) for Finnish National Ballet's Abigail Sheppard and Gabriel Davidsson.

Krutzkamp stated," This festival was created 5 years ago with the opportunity to bring world-class dancers from all over the globe to perform with our own remarkable Kansas City artists. The goal is to present engaging performances that inspire an unbridled passion for the arts." He continued, "This year, the festival continues its mission of exposing new generations of patrons and seasoned theater enthusiasts to innovative works. Contemporary dance and classical ballet, black box and stage, local and international dancers all combine to create a dynamic experience that is unparalleled in Kansas City's artistic landscape. We are thrilled to present this scope of work."
