I got a text on my cell phone this morning from my prop supervisor that just said 'ahhh' which I took to be good news so then I checked and found out. I am just delighted, thrilled and excited to get recognized because I've been in this business long enough to know that you can do good work and not necessarily be recognized, so this is really gratifying.

I'm not sure how I will celebrate. I should probably think about it but I've been so inarticulate today with everyone calling and emailing, it's just a bit overwhelming. You know James Lapine gave me my first show and really the start of my career so it's really nice to receive a Tony nomination for one of his shows. I was delighted that the play got a nod as well. I hope the show will introduce people to this great work who didn't know it before, I hadn't read the book until I got the show, it was always on my list of books to read. And I find it comforting and interesting to see that life in the theater hasn't really changed much in all this time - some things really stay the same!
