Terrence Mann, BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A FEATURED ROLE IN A MUSICAL for PIPPIN
Well it's shocking. I was like "what? really?". I had actually just taken my girls to school and I then I went on to Trader Joes and as I was going to the subway station with my Trader Joe bags, a friend of mine texted "congrats" and i thought "cool, the show got nominated" and then I received a text which said "Congrats Mr. Nominee" so then I realized I received a nomination. And I came home and made breakfast and worked on a drain in the tub with my plumber - you know keeping it real. I celebrated by pulling junk out of my bathtub! You know you try not to have it mean anything but it of course it means an amazing amount - you start to think about it, imagine it, fantasize about it and then you shut it away. But, it means a lot, yet it means nothing - its a wonderful accolade to be selected, to be among your talented peers. The last time I was nominated was 20 years ago. So, it's just nice to be playing in this big sandbox called 'Pippin!' Of course its a little bittersweet, because you have to wonder, "what about Matthew" and of course I think my wife deserved a nomination - so I will represent our family.
