David Hyde Pierce, winner of four Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Dr. Niles Crane on Frasier, and multiple Emmy Award winner David Lee, Frasier's co-creator and executive producer, will reunite to discuss what goes into making a hit television show. At this onstage conversation event co-produced with Gimlet Media's Alex Blumberg (formally of This American Life and Planet Money), Pierce and Lee talk about what worked, what didn't work, and how to develop a memorable character. A part of Lincoln Center's Masters on Masters series, the conversation will be held tonight at 7:30pm, at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, Frieda and Roy Furman Stage.

Emmy® and Tony Award® winner David Hyde Pierce makes his Broadway directorial debut with the new Hargrove/Anselmi musical, It Shoulda Been You, which he originally directed at George Street Playhouse. Other directing credits include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Center Theatre Group) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Williamstown Theatre Festival). Broadway acting credits: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Tony Award® nomination), La Bête, Accent on Youth, Curtains (Tony Award®), Spamalot, The Heidi Chronicles, Beyond Therapy. Off-Broadway: The Landing, Close Up Space, Elliot Loves, Zero Positive, That's It Folks!, The Maderati, The Author's Voice, Summer, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Peter Brook's The Cherry Orchard. Regional: Guthrie, Goodman, Long Wharf, Ahmanson Theatre and Geffen Playhouse. Film: The Perfect Host, Down With Love, Full Frontal, Wet Hot American Summer, A Bug's Life, Treasure Planet, Wolf, Nixon, Sleepless in Seattle, Little Man Tate, Crossing Delancey. Perhaps best known for his role on TV's iconic comedy, Frasier, Pierce earned four Emmy® Awards among many other accolades. He can currently be seen in a recurring guest role on the critically acclaimed CBS drama The Good Wife. Other television credits include: "The Powers That Be," "The Outer Limits" and "Titus." Lee is a television producer, director, and writer. He was a writer and producer for the American sitcoms The Jeffersons and Cheers, as well as a co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer of Wings and Frasier alongside Peter Casey and the late David Angell under the Grub Street Productions.
