So Joseph, Spring Awakening and Sunset Boulevard are closing tonight (and Shout! tomorrow?) and I just wanted to say best wishes to those working on all of them, let's hope you get something new soon!

yes Sunset was good. I will prize my dvd and never let it out of my sight. Spring Awakening grew on me - stunning cast, weak show but some wonderfully haunting moments.

Goodbye Spring, you should NOT be closing tonight. How can something this good shut whils shows such as Chicago, Carousel and We will rock you continue to run. Travesty. So glad I have experienced it.

Spring was alright. A bit pretentious and 6th form production type affair but it kind of worked and had a bit more life in it. But shows such as Blood Brothers and WWRY could have closed down in its place.

Yes, best wishes to the casts of all three productions. I've seen two of these three and enjoyed them both immensely.

Kudos to the audiences as well for being there rather than staying at home to watch Britains Got Commercialism.

For those of you who weren't there and want to know, the last night of Spring was absolutely insane. The swings got cheered as they took their seats (all of them were on!) and the cast got a mini standing ovation. A couple of them really cried so much, as did I haha. The stage door afterwards was absolutely *mental* my ears are ringing lol.

Apart from the annoying guys in front who felt the need to comment on every single little thing, it was a fabulous night, which I will never forget!

I have just got home after seeing the final performance of Spring Awakening. WOW.
That was one hell of a night, I knew it was going to be different when the Swings (sitting on the stage seats) got an entrance applause. The crowd had so much energy and gave so much gratitude to the performers who were amazing. It really is a shame this show has to close so soon but it really did go out with a bang. I think the cast came back out 4 times during bows as the applause just wouldn't stop. I hope they made it out of stage door without being ripped to pieces.

They did - just!! It was absolutely insane! I somehow got to the front, and I swear, the amount of times I was nearly pushed over! It was madness!

Oh my god Spring Awakening was SO GOOD tonight. I need to go sit in a dark cold quiet room and calm down.

'spring awakening is a great loss for the west end!'

Completely agree! As is Sunset! I somehow wish the fans of genuinely brilliant musical theatre were enough to keep shows of this quality running. Both will be greatly missed I'm sure, but I hope this isn't the end of Spring Awakening in the UK, rights release or tour has to happen... WE NEED THIS SHOW!
Also for Joseph, meh.

I think that Sunset and SA were, until Saturday, two of the three best shows in the West End. I was lucky enopugh to get in to see SA once more on Saturday afternoon - and it was fantastic. Each time I've seen the show I have discovered more and more layers of depth to the text and score and noticed some beautiful nuances in the direction. It is impossible to find words to describe how brilliant a piece of writing this show is - and the performances of the UK cast were astonishing. Aneurin Barnard in particular I think is going to be a huge star - quite apart from his great vocals, the combination of subtlety and intensity of his acting is incredible. If there is any justice, he should walk away with the Olivier for Best Actor in a musical, and the show should win the award for Best Musical.

It is such a shame it did not capture the imagination of a mass audience. Those who did not go to see it missed a rare treat - a hugely entertaining show that was also intelligent and moving.

I had stage seats on the 28th and it was an incredible show. I loved every second of it and am gutted that it's gone. So annoying with all these ****ty juke box musicals about that new theatre can;t be given the opportunity it deserves. I honestly think now that the great British Public are going to be responsible for the death of the west end... turn it in to a cinema and play a few more cheesey 80s films with a bit of background music! re: Farewell to 3 shows!
