Can anyone please tell me if there are any plans to record the new cast of Joseph. I am sure they will as it would sell hundreds I guess just wondering how soon it would be recorded and released. Thank you

True, it would make a lot of money, but didn't they just release a new recording a couple of years ago of the touring cast? I'm sure they did - can't find any track of it online, but I'm positive about it. Ah well. In the meantime, they have got Lee's single of 'Any Dream Will Do'.

I don't recall there being a recording of the tour. I think they would be crazy not to do a recording with Lee, There is a new song as well of course.

No there wasn't a touring cast to my knowledge and i worked on it for 3 years..hehe.

What do we all think of the new song? perosnally i don't like it - it reminds me a bit of are you lonesome tonight?

Knew I wasn't going crazy - just wasn't the U.K. tour. It's the 2005 U.S. national touring production recording with Amy Adams as the narrator.

The Backstage Gossip?

As Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice have written their first new song together in 30 odd years they WILL be recording this London cast.

I have been reading bits in other threads and boards, is this really the first new song in 30 years - what about the one in Evita (with Madonna) and Cricket, and the new song in The Likes of Us?

Damned if i can remember where i saw it written but they are recording the new show but not until the Autumn! It is a def tho.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

That is correct. The cast recording will be out for Christmas.

I am not sure if Sir Tim Rice wrote the lyrics for the new Evita song. But the press release about it being the first song in 30 years came from the two giants themselves, and they must know when they last got it going together!

Actually, they did record a UK tour cast... they were seling it when I saw it in Birmingham in April 2005 !
Sarah bernhardt to a fellow actress: "Have you got stage fright, dear?" "No," the young lady aswered astonished. "Don't worry, it will come along with talent!"

they didnt do a new london recording, as its Kenwright and we all know how cheap he is, I have the touring cd its ok but mr Swerrun does try and over-do the vocals in my oppinion...though not half as much as he does on stage now.

They both wrote the new song for film of Evita
They both wrote a new song for Connie Fisher’s album (‘Dance the Dance’)
They both wrote a new song for The Likes of Us (2005)

The PR people may have got a little carried away...

"Murder is a very British thing, isn't it? I mean, it's almost like a hobby over there."
"Why do you insist you must hear the words? When you know I cannot give you words. Not the ones you need..."

Hi everyone! Rohingit, could you please tell me where you obtained your CD of the tour from, as I can't seem to find it anywhere, although I've been looking for ages!

I can't wait to see Joseph, I'm going in October and it looks fantastic!

Yeah i"ve always thought that but technically it should be CHicago who copied them (if there's any copying around at all) cuz this production opened in 91 and the Encores production of Chicago opened in 95
