Help! I can't choose...#0
Posted: 8/25/06 at 5:43pm
I will be in London Thanksgiving week and I'm planning on seeing as many shows as possible. (Not quite sure how many that is yet.) I'm definitely going to see Wicked, Spamalot, Les Miz, & Billy Elliot. My first question is this - are any of those shows ones that I should make SURE to get the more expensive seats?

I'd also like to see any of these: Cabaret, Avenue Q, Producers, Sunday In The Park With George, Last 5 Years (if it extends) or Mary Poppins. I've already seen Mary Poppins, but this is probably the last time I'll be in London for a while and I loved it so much that I'd like to see it again. If I end up going to more than the 4 shows, I'll probably see Cabaret, but I want to hear your opinions on the shows.
Any help is appreciated more than I can say. =]

Because Les Miz is the best WEA1 - you know it! lol

Your choices so far seem spot on.

Last 5 Years will have closed as will Sunday in the Park.

Id prebook for as much as you can, all the new openings will sell I would have thought.

I would DEFINATELY book for Avenue Q its one of the best shows in London.

IF Footloose extends id actually recommend that as a fun night out.

By the time you come Dirty Dancing (from sounds of things maybe not waste you rmoney on this one), Porgy and BEss and Sound Of Music will also have opened. Cabaret has a good creative team so should be good! Maybe see a play? if you have never seen Woman in Black i would efinately recommend that, and its quite cheap.

Avenue Q is great - first two rows are 20 if you book from the Delfont Mackintosh website.

Cabaret could be interesting, but I'd wait for the first preview reviews before booking anything. It may be on the half-price tickets booth anyway.

Les Mis is often at the booth, though seat locations vary. It's a good deal if you've seen the show before though...

I'd pre-book for all the ones you particularly want to see and I'd definitely go for the 20 Avenue Q tickets - a complete bargain!

Except for the bad ones.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Thanks for all the input so far. I've taken all your suggestions into consideration. Feel free to keep commenting - I don't book tickets for another week or so.
