Announcement expected very soon. The show is now set to open directly in the West End at The Novello.

WOS.com have just leeked some of the casting alongside creative team (who I said it would be a while ago!)

WOS haven't announced though that it is likley that Ann Emery will finally leave Billy Elliot to headline the show...

So sad I won't get the chance to see Ann Emery in Billy Elliot! After everything I've heard I was really looking forward to seeing her when I saw it for the first time last month, but she wasn't performing that night.

Mind you, I've had five and a half years to see her so can't really complain. Betty Blue Eyes

Can't say the idea of this musical is particularly grabbing me, but if Adrian Scarborough and Ann Emery are in it, I'm there.

I think virtually every triple threat in the West End has been seen for leadingroles in this.

No, they have been auditioning principals for some weeks. My friend, who is in a major west end show, was seen about a month ago.

Can't summon up any enthusiasm about this. I found the movie to be a major yawn. And Stiles/Drewe scores are always rather bland for my taste.

The name isn't that popular with a few connected to the show but Cameron is set on it. I don't like it myself.
What's wrong with 'A Private Function- The Musical' ?
I think this will be his next 'Moby Dick'!

Great news, London to get a big new musical and with Cameroon Mackintosh at the helm, it is bound to be good.

Disappointed this won't be doing an out-of-town tryout at the WYP but still hoping this will be a stonking great hit.

Reece Shearsmith sounds like great casting but I'm not sure about Je m'appelle Raquel. Didn't she miss loads of performances when she took over in Guys and Dolls?

Well, if Adrian Scarboroughs there, then so am I!

Also it's nice to support new musicals in the UK and all that malarkey... Betty Blue Eyes

They seemed to sure they'd be having an out of town try-out. In some ways it's great they have the confidence to open straight away in London, I like the idea of giving another city a preview, as well as using the opportunity to get large scale audience feedback before investing in a West End run.

I hope it's because they really are confident about it, and not because they want to rush it, or because Cameron has a theatre to fill.

Sara Lancashire has confirmed for the show.

I saw her doing Audrey in 'Little Shop Of Horrors' in Bolton back in the mid 90s and she has a great voice.

I would be surprised about Ann Emery. I know from someone who knows her well that at the age of 80, she was finding 8 shows a week tiring so has cut back to 6. She also told her friends she vould retire when she was 80. Obviously, she hasn't and I could be wrong, but I suspect she may not do a new show.

Cameron is very persuasive..

Don't know if it'll happen, but knowing him, it probably will!
