London Version/Broadway Box Question#1
Posted: 7/19/09 at 1:39pm
Visiting in March 2010. I have a question about your Broadway Box discounts. In the States, when there is a discount offer, you can purchase the tickets online with the code or print a copy of the offer and bring it to the box office. Do the London theatres except a copy of the discount or is everything done online? Thank you

No not really, but La Cage aux Folles is carrying discounts in advance which you can book online.

The website theatre monkey gives details of all ddiscounts going at the moment.

And TKTS advertise on their website whats on sale today, also there is a tab for cheap advance purchase.

The discount system in the West End is very different and they are not normally so 'give away' as in New York

I bought tickets through broadwaybox to 3 shows in London last year, and we had no problem with the online booking. One of the deals was what the call a "dinner deal" which we don't have in the States, where you have a reserved place in a restaurant before the show. The restaurant we went to was a good Italian restaurant near the theater, which was great since we weren;t familiar with the restaurants in the area so that solved the problem for us. And even thought they have the option of mailing you the actual tickets I am not sure that would be so effective for tourists. So enjoy the shows and see Dirty Dancing - that was the best one, even though Woman in Black was also good.
