The Finger draws its impetus from a vacuum, from a family bereft, and the implacable dynamics between two women. In it, a disappearance calls for - and exacts - rituals in the gap between life and death. Examining the life between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, this play explores how patriarchal norms, even in the absence of men, can be reproduced by women themselves.
The Finger has been produced in Belgrade, Skopje, Sarajevo, Vienna, Pristina, and Tirana and sees its Western premiere at the Venus Theatre. This play has also been translated into seven different languages.
