Sally & Tom, the regional premiere at Round House Theatre, is a dark and witty dramedy by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks that follows a scrappy theatre company staging a play about Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson. As rehearsals unfold, the story alternates between 1790s Monticello and a present-day rehearsal room, blurring the boundaries between past and present to explore race, power, and the act of storytelling itself. The production is directed by Timothy Douglas and features Josiah Bania, Ro Boddie, Renea S. Brown, Kimberly Gilbert, Jamar Jones, Charlotte Kim, Lilian Oben, and Colin Sphar.
