Hamilton is versatile, in demand, and has an enviable career where he has shared the stage with Oscar Peterson, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Brown, Diana Krall, Woody Herman, Monty Alexander, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, and more. Founder, artistic director, and virtuoso saxophonist Jim Carroll leads the orchestra, comprising some of the area’s finest musicians, and is also joined by vocalist Darden Purcell, George Mason University’s director of jazz studies.
