Sweeney Todd: In Concert is the inaugural production in Northern Stage's newly launched Northern Stage: In Concert series, presenting Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's legendary musical thriller in a concert format with full cast, live orchestra, and community chorus. Bradley Dean leads the cast in the title role, with Carol Dunne as Mrs. Lovett, Riley Noland as Johanna, Robert Jensen as Judge Turpin, Raymond J. Lee as Adolfo Pirelli, and Susan Haefner as the Beggar Woman. The production is directed by Kevin David Thomas, with music direction by Nathan Beary Loughstein. The concert format places the score and storytelling at the forefront while preserving the complete musical experience, including a community chorus made up of Northern Stage supporters, volunteers, students, and community members.
