Shakespeare in Love at Isham Family Farm

Vermont Repertory Theatre transforms the Isham Family Farm barn in Williston into a theatrical destination with Shakespeare in Love, running for 10 performances beginning June 11. Based on the 1998 Academy Award-winning film written by Tom Stoppard and adapted for the stage by Lee Hall, the play follows a young William Shakespeare who, mired in writer's block, finds his muse in Viola de Lesseps — a noblewoman who disguises herself as a man to pursue her passion for acting, ultimately inspiring the creation of Romeo and Juliet. Real-life couple Connor Kendall and Merrill Cameron, whose own romance blossomed within the Vermont theatre scene, take on the leading roles of Will and Viola.
