Richard O' Brien's Rocky Horror Show at Essex Community Players at Memorial Hall

Richard O'Brien's cult classic stage musical-turned beloved film, Rocky Horror Show, takes the stage at Memorial Hall (5 Towers Rd., Essex) starting April 17 and runs through May 2. As the first musical by Essex Community Players in a decade, the rock and roll songs bring an infectious, foot-stomping excitement to the sensual story that celebrates saying ""Yes!"" to living a life of absolute pleasure. The tale follows Brad and Janet, two ordinary soon-to-be married kids, who wind up stuck with a flat tire during a storm, as they stumble across the creepy mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist with so much in store for them! As their innocence is shed, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of eccentric characters who share an almost fanatical devotion to their Master, erm, the Doctor. Brad and Janet are taken for a ride they'll never forget, when the scientist unveils his latest wonder: A creature of his own making, named Rocky! Tickets range $22-25, and shows are at 7:30 Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 pm Sundays. Note: Rocky Horror Show may not be suitable for all audiences. Prop bags will be on sale at the door.
