Hilda’s Yard follows Hilda and Sam Fluck, on a summer day in 1956. Newly on their own since their thirtysomething children Gary and Janey moved out, they are finally ready to relax. Hilda plans to hang her laundry while Sam goes to buy a shiny new television. What could disturb their simple peace? Turns out fences and doors are merely decoration as Gary and Janey literally fall into the backyard, looking for help out of sticky situations. Gary has lost his job, is enamored with his new girlfriend Bobbi, and running from a bookie named Beverly, while the ever-dependent Janey has unexpectedly left her husband. The family careens into an afternoon of calamity, showing them that ultimately they must celebrate how they can be together rather than apart.

Hilda Fluck
Karen is thrilled to be in her first play with Pivot Theatre, and her biggest role to date! She has previously appeared in ‘Man Who Saved Christmas’, ‘Elf’ (TIC), and ‘As You Like It’ (Emerald Pig). She’d like to thank CJ for believing in her, her incredible castmates, and most importantly, her daughters for their unwavering support.
Chuck Mayne
Sam Fluck
This is Chuck’s third show this season with Pivot, in addition to the award-winning ‘Perfect Arrangement’ and DebuTheatre’s ‘The Right Kind Of House’. He hopes you’ll come to see for yourself why Fluck is such a proud name, and that you’ll tell your friends about it to help us reestablish community theatre in Surrey.
Kassandra Sison
Janey Fluck
Kassandra is thrilled to be joining the ‘Hilda’s Yard’ cast as plucky Janey Fluck. She was previously seen as sassy Louanne in ‘Doin’ Time at the Alamo’ (North Van Community Players), and anxiety-riddled Annette in ‘God of Carnage’ (Studio for Actors). She wishes to thank her family for supporting her on-stage adventures.
Tristan Manning
Gary Fluck
Tristan is a lifelong entertainer whose previous stage credits include ‘Grease’, ‘Once Upon a Mattress’, and ‘A Delightful Quarantine’. Representing Gary’s truth in this production, Tristan has been most enthralled by Norm Foster’s work and CJ’s interpretations. He hopes you enjoy the show, and that you remember to laugh.
Jenn Tiles
Bobbi Jakes
Jenn is very jazzed to be playing the character of Bobbi Jakes alongside such a talented cast! This is her third appearance in a Pivot production, and she hopes you enjoy the show! Jenn is also a professional voiceover actor, as well as a visual arts and drama instructor at the Arts Umbrella.
Sam Chimes
Beverly Woytowich
Sam “Chimes” Adimora is an Afro Canadian actor whose acting journey started when an agent saw him performing music on the streets of downtown Vancouver. She gave him her card, he started taking acting classes, and is now appearing in ‘Hilda’s Yard’ as the compassionate thug, Beverly Woytowich.

CJ Jackman Zigante
Director
CJ is a credited actress, singer, and comedienne. She started out as a child actor, and landed her first role as an adult in the feature film ‘The Kidnapping of the President’. Immersed in the arts for more than 40 years, CJ has gone on to add director, author, and playwright to her credits. She is tickled pink to be a part of the Pivot Theatre family.
