3.2.1 Hold Me On Stage” is a contemporary theatre piece that centers on the struggle to remain on stage and to exist in life. The play brings to the stage the struggle of a woman to exist, while simultaneously revealing the individual’s internal battle with feelings of inadequacy rooted in the past, the fear of invisibility, and the constant need to prove oneself.
For the character, the stage is not merely a place of performance; it is the only space where she can sustain her existence. Outside of it, she risks dissolving into silence, into absence. The stage becomes both a refuge and a battlefield — a place where survival depends on being seen.
The dramaturgy of the piece is built around the metaphor of a claw machine, in which the character finds herself trapped. This mechanism represents systems of selection and validation: auditions, institutions, family expectations, and societal structures that determine who is worthy of being visible. The randomness and perceived unfairness of the machine reflect the unpredictability of the industry and the psychological toll of constantly waiting to be chosen.
