GILGAMESH - AN ANCIENT TALE A New Musical To Workshop In Liverpool
The Lythgoe siblings bring their original score to LIPA's Paul McCartney Performing Arts School.
A musical retelling of oldest story in the world is receiving it's second Research & Development, just a few months after the last.
Last November Gilgamesh, An Ancient Tale, A New Musical was workshopped at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Following success in London, the show is now being workshopped at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts by the musical theatre degree students and team. The team at LIPA will bring to life excerpts of the material under the direction of the original creative trio from last year's London R&D. Cameron, Bethany & Natasha Lythgoe all attended LIPA's 4:19 academy from the age of 4, and are very grateful to be bringing their new work, back to the university as professionals.
Gilgamesh tells the story of the world's first hero on his quest for immortality. It is the oldest literary-writing, and inspires the majority of todays stories and perceptions of good vs evil.
With book, music and lyrics by Cameron & Natasha Lythgoe, and choreography by Bethany Rose Lythgoe. The Lythgoe siblings continue their journey as both performers and creatives following their recent productions of Pandemonium - The Musical, I Know What You Did Last Fringe, and Elementals - A New Subatomic Musical.
The musical is to be workshopped for 2 weeks before a presentation in Paul McCartney's Performing Arts School.
