Volti nuovi si uniranno all'Abbey nel tour nordamericano di THE SOUND OF MUSIC questo autunno. Lo spettacolo accoglie Lisa Howard (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, It Shoulda Been You) nel ruolo di Madre Badessa a partire dal 18 settembre e Dylan Bradford (membro del cast originale del tour 2025, Jimmy Awards 2023) nel ruolo di Rolf Gruber a partire dall'8 settembre.
A Dallas si uniscono inoltre alla produzione Laura Stracko (Diana the Musical, Suffs Tour) nel ruolo di Frau Schmidt, i nuovi membri dell'ensemble Jake DiMaggio Lopez e Connor Lyon, e i nuovi bambini von Trapp Cooper Johnsen come Friedrich, Lilly Belle Lanese come Louisa, Charlie Palmer come Kurt, Stormie Piper Treviño come Brigitta, Rory L. Prichard come Marta e Emma Rose Marinoff come Gretl. Mila DeBenedetto, Ava Giselle Field e Daniel Smyres faranno da understudy ai bambini von Trapp.
Si uniranno a un cast attualmente guidato da Cayleigh Capaldi nel ruolo di Maria Rainer, Kevin Earley nel ruolo del Capitano Georg von Trapp, Nicholas Rodriguez come Max Detweiler, Kate Loprest come Elsa Schraeder, e Ariana Ferch nel ruolo di Liesl von Trapp.
Il cast principale è completato da John Adkison nel ruolo di Franz, Corey Greenan come Ammiraglio von Schreiber, e Daniel Robert Sullivan come Herr Zeller. A completare il cast ci sono Blaire Eilene Baker, Sydney K. Borchers, Steven Grant Douglas, Alli Echelmeyer, Hugh Entrekin, Charlotte Jenkins (Sister Margaretta), Mark Bradley Miller (Baron Elberfeld), Julia Mosby, Ruthie Sangster, e Lisa Rosetta Strum (Sister Berthe).
La storia vivace, romantica e amata di Maria e della famiglia von Trapp presenta una colonna sonora indimenticabile vincitrice di Tony, GRAMMY e Academy Award per la Miglior Colonna Sonora, inclusi i leggendari brani "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Climb Ev’ry Mountain," "Edelweiss" e "The Sound of Music."
THE SOUND OF MUSIC presenta musica di Richard Rodgers, testi di Oscar Hammerstein II, libretto di Howard Lindsay e Russel Crouse, ispirato da "The Trapp Family Singers" di Maria Augusta Trapp. Il film vincitore dell'Oscar del 1965 ha recentemente celebrato il suo 60° anniversario ed è ancora uno dei musical cinematografici di maggior successo di tutti i tempi.
