7:30-9 p.m. – The Upper Canada Choristers and their accomplished Latin-American ensemble Cantemos celebrate the rich diversity of Venezuelan music, with its African, Spanish, Caribbean, and Indigenous cultural influences. Laurie Evan Fraser conducts, with Hye Won (Cecilia) Lee as pianist. Special guests are La Petite Musicale of Toronto, a vivacious folk choir of emigrés from Trinidad and Tobago, conducted by Lindy Burgess; and internationally renowned Venezuelan composer and conductor César Alejandro Carrillo and his wife, poet Laura Morales Balza, on their first Toronto visit. Emceed by Venezuelan-Canadians Antonio Mata and Cecilia Salcedo. Also streaming live on the choir’s website, www.uppercanadachoristers.org. Free, but donations are appreciated.
