Potato Potato is a new musical by Emma Golden that explores the complexities of identity against the backdrop of a politically induced potato famine in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The story unfolds through the lens of rival families on Executive Road, intertwining themes of star-crossed love and historical connection to the 1845 Irish Potato Famine. Directed by Talia Bowell and featuring choreography by Norman Abraham, the production delves into the destructive nature of modern political structures and the illusions of difference they propagate.
