In a world longing for stillness and connection, River City Voices presents Fauré Requiem, an opportunity to pause, breathe, and be uplifted by the transcendent power of the human voice.
Under the direction of Guest Conductor Dr Philip Eames, with Oscar Balle-Bowness, featuring the exceptional vocals of soprano Ayako Ohtake and baritone Benjamin Caukwell, and internationally acclaimed organist Simon Nieminski.
Alongside Fauré’s beloved masterpiece, the program features works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, Australian composers Alice Chance and Joseph Romeo, and First Nations composer Nicole Smede, reflecting themes of harmony, humanity, and hope—promising a warmth of sound lingering long after the final note!
