Exposure is a live performance by Branch Nebula in which performers Mirabelle Wouters and Latai Taumoepeau subject themselves to oil, steel, and sustained physical force in an examination of the ageing female body. Bodies are bathed in black oil, steel bedframes are suspended and manipulated, and heavy objects are thrown into a domestic clothes dryer, their impacts amplified into a percussive rhythm. Operating at the intersection of the sensory and the cerebral, the work invites audiences into a collective act of witnessing bodies persistently exposed to force, instability, and time. Exposure is the final stop on a national tour, with sound design by Phil Downing and lighting design by Karen Norris.
