About the program
At the Eastern University Music Department, our motto is “music is for life," which means that music includes but transcends competition and even achievement. This is why we seek to explore, perform, and teach music in a Christian context and to assist students in developing music appreciation and skills for local and global music ministry. This is achieved through the integration of spiritual formation with historical, technical and multicultural approaches that emphasize expressive art forms in community. The Music Department offers a BA in Music with concentrations in: general music, church music, composition and electronic music, music education, and performance. The Music Department also offers individualized majors (subject to faculty approval) and a minor in music.
