Our 30 music faculty are artists and teachers who serve, inspire, and encourage you to develop your musical potential.
We host a diverse group of international and local guest artists on our beautiful Crete campus to further enhance your musical experiences. In recent years, the Doane Music Department had the great pleasure of welcoming the Modiglinani String Quartet from Paris, France, to showcase their remarkable musicianship. Other recent guests include: Boston Brass, Opera Singer Kyle Ketelsen, Conductors René Clausen and Stephen Davis, and Band Director Frank Tracz. Dr. Glen Nierman, President of the National Association for Music Education and Dr. Lance Nielsen, President of the North Central Chapter of the National Association for Music Education, have also shared their talents and love of music with Doane Students.
We tour annually to expose students to a wide variety of experiences at home and abroad. We provide an expansive range of opportunities for our music education majors to work with outstanding teachers and attend important conferences including the National Association for music education, The Midwest International Band Orchestra Clinic, the Nebraska Music Educators Association, the Nebraska Choral Directors Association and the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association.
