Theatre Arts is a challenging, joyful and natural study which teaches valuable skills for any career. Every year the Theatre Arts Department plays host to a variety of opportunities for students ranging from the annual Main Stage production, and the student directed one-act plays, comedy improv and stand-up comedy improv and stand-up comedy, to behind the scenes opportunities such as technical theatre and costuming.

Portland Shakespeare Project and Proscenium Journal present the fifth annual Proscenium Live Festival of New Work with two days of fresh plays. This year's festival takes place at Portland State University's Lincoln Hall, in the Boiler Room Studio Theater. Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation Launches a Major Workforce Education Initiative

Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation (AWMH) has launched a major workforce education initiative that provides direct support to community colleges to enhance their career and technical education programs. These programs provide skills and services to students who are looking to enter a traditional trade or other applied learning program. Ten colleges from across the country will receive $100,000 to support more than 1,000 students training to enter the American workforce. These students will become the first cohort of Metallica Scholars.
