DANDELION, adapted from the children's book by Don Freeman, will run from April 25 - May 14th at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT. This production is part of Playhouse on Park's Theatre for Young Audience Series, and is recommended for Grades Pre-K - 3.

Ruth Stage has announced that two-time Tony Award nominee Alison Fraser (The Secret Garden) will reprise her role as ‘Big Mama’, as well as announcing the complete casting for their provocative and controversial modern staging of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Capital Classics Theatre Company announced today the complete cast and artistic team behind Much Ado About Nothing, the centerpiece of the company's 2022 Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival. The production will run for three weekends, July 14 through 31, 2022, on the grounds of the University of Saint Joseph (1678 Asylum Avenue in West Hartford, CT).

Central Connecticut State University's student-run dance performance company, Dancentral, presents the 2021 'Fall Student Choreographers' Showcase' on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at 7 p.m. This year's showcase will be held in-person at Welte Auditorium for current CCSU students, faculty and staff only.

The event, themed Mark Twain Around the World, will celebrate the global travels of Samuel Clemens, his popular travel writings, and, of course, his iconic Hartford home and its international touches. 

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the national awardees of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, which was held virtually in convenings for each discipline that began on March 8, 2021 and continued through May 22, 2021.

Central Connecticut State University's Dance Education Program presents 'Legends' in collaboration with student dance company Dancentral. 'Legends' is the annual Spring Faculty Dance Showcase and will be livestreamed on April 18th at 3 p.m.

Gerrilyn Sohn returns to Don't Tell Mama for an encore performance of her cabaret debut show 'Something Cool' on November 3, 2019 at 5:30pm. Directed by Gretchen Reinhagen, with Musical Director David Gaines, this show pays tribute to some of Gerrilyn's favorite musical influences, be they shows or artists, with an eclectic mix of songs from Broadway and The Great American Songbook and the stories that go along with them. This show premiered at Don't Tell Mama on June 23, 2019.

The University of Saint Joseph's acclaimed 5X5 Dance Festival brings together choreographers, performers, educators, and students to study, perform, and, of course, celebrate the multifaceted art of dance. Artists, students, and audiences share their experience, talent, and inspiration through master classes, workshops, discussions, and performances. The 17th Annual 5X5 Dance Festival performances and master classes will be held in the University of Saint Joseph's Autorino Center in West Hartford, Conn. on Saturday, Nov. 2, with a showcase performance at 7:30 p.m. Pre-show, site-specific performances will occur in the Bruyette Athenaeum starting at 7 p.m.

David Figliuzzi, Lisa Greene, Jacqueline Moller, and Brittany N. Stephenson join the Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc Board of Directors as Playhouse on Park finishes its tenth season. These individuals will each serve a three-year term.

The 16th Annual 5X5 Dance Festival will be held in the University of Saint Joseph's Bruyette Athenaeum in West Hartford, Conn. on Saturday, November 3 with the main showcase performance at 7:30 p.m. 

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Central Connecticut State University, and the University of Hartford will introduce The Healing World Project at 7:30 p.m. on April 14, 2018 at the Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities in the Bruyette Athenaeum on USJ's West Hartford campus, located at 1678 Asylum Ave. The Healing World Project, funded by a grant from the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education, aims to present and record the music of refugee and recent immigrant musicians living in Connecticut. Working with students and faculty from the three universities, these musicians create music works that are presented in public performance, toured throughout Connecticut, and recorded for distribution. During the 2017-18 academic year, students and faculty from each university have been working with musicians to produce and record the music, schedule concerts, design promotional materials, promote the concerts on social media, and document the project in photography and video.
