In a world, where everything seems possible and nothing is what it seems, a group of misfits discover an ancient map and set out on a daring quest to save the world. Heroes! Villains! Magic! Treasure! Cyndi Lauper?!! Not just your basic, average, everyday, ordinary, run-of-the-mill, ho-hum story. You will find adventure, or adventure will find you. Can looking back help us move forward? In times of distress, we often return to old familiar movies that made us feel connected to something larger than ourselves when we were kids. These movies can recharge our souls when the world is crashing around us. Sadness, loneliness, and meaninglessness trigger nostalgia. Nostalgia, in turn, enhances well-being, feelings of social connectedness, and perceptions of meaning in life. These troubling times make us feel alone and disconnected. Sharing nostalgic memories with others builds connection. When we engage in nostalgic reflection, we are accessing meaningful memories from the past in order to help us approach the future with purpose. Classic Adventure Movie; or Never Say Die explores the value of shared nostalgia.
