Waitress: The Musical is a Tony-nominated Broadway phenomenon. The story centers around Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie-maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed by My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance for escape to a better life, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. Through the support of her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to take a long-abandoned dream off the shelf. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness. Featuring music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Sara Bareilles, Waitress celebrates the power of friendship, dreams, the family we choose, and the beauty of a well-baked pie. Best For Ages: 13 and up. Parental Discretion Advised due to themes of domestic abuse; some language.
