Tango for the New Century! Catch Leonardo Suarez-Paz’s PIAZZOLLA100: El Nuevo Tango on tour
Leonardo Suarez-Paz's PIAZZOLLA100 launched its inaugural season of The New York Tango Festival this June, which featured apprearances at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York and the Levitt Pavilion in Westport, CT. Now, "Leonardo Suarez Paz's PIAZZOLLA100: El Nuevo Tango,” the show that sold out the famed 2600-seat National Hall of Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires, continues its 2025 tour in the US. Up next is the Saturday, October 4th perofrmance at the Koger Center for the Arts in South Carolina.
Don't miss your chance to catch this genre-redefining, multidisciplinary show which blends music, dance, and multimedia under the direction of Leonardo Suarez-Paz, a "virtuoso extraordinaire" (Wynton Marsalis), a multiple Latin Grammy Award nominee and a fourth-generation tango musician, singer, dancer and composer, who was mentored by Astor Piazzolla.
A cast of 15 award-winning artists including a 10-member Nuevo Tango Ensemble with Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated soloists Patience Higgins (tenor sax), Rodolfo Zanetti (bandoneon), Emilio Solla (piano) and Leonardo Suarez-Paz (voice, violin, dance) and the 5 member Nuevo Tango Ballet under the direction of Olga Suarez-Paz share the real stories of nuevo tango, from its past to the possibilities it offers as language that unites us across decades and cultures.
