The Footlight Players are proud to present the final show of this season's LateNight @ the Footlight series with a stark and gripping examination of ethics and morals, Extremities, by William Mastrosimone. Performance dates are April 3-5, 10-12 at 9:00 pm and April 6 and 13 at 4:00 pm.

Extremities was first produced off Broadway in 1982, and a film version was produced in 1986. This disturbing, dramatic look at rape and revenge revolves around Marjorie, a young woman attacked in her home by a would-be rapist, Raul. She manages to turn the tables on him, tying up her attacker and having him under her control. The remainder of the play deals with "what-ifs" of: when her roommates return, whose side they take, how far a victim can go before protection becomes revenge, the peremptory joining of the victim and attacker.Extremities shows us that nothing is cut and dry no matter how horrible the circumstance. This anxiety-inducing dive into the dark waters of human behavior will leave your heart pounding. The Associated Press described Extremities as "a searing play about rape." Extremities will leave you rocked to the core with emotion. The play offers a vivid, shattering debate about womanhood, humanity and forces audiences to look deeply into their own beliefs.

Director Kristen Kos is honored to return to Footlight as director of this intense and challenging play with such a fine cast. Directorial credits include, A Tuna Christmas for Footlight, A Steady Rain for South of Broadway Theatre, and Tuna Does Vegas for Pioneer Playhouse in KY. She also enjoys theatre from the actor's standpoint, appearing this past year in both Next Stage productions at South of Broadway Theatre and Flowertown Players; Inez in No Exit and Emma in Betrayal. In the coming months, she will share the Threshold stage in 1963. Aside from a life in the theatre, Kristen teaches yoga at Holy Cow Yoga Center and The Daniel Island Club. She graduated cum laude with a BFA in Acting and has been a proud member of Actors Equity Association since 2004. The cast of Extremities includes Sara Coy (Patricia), Naomi Doddington (Majorie), Jared Rice (Raul), and Victoria Vaughn (Terry).

Performances of Extremities are April 3-5, 10-12 at 9:00 pm and April 6 & 13 at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $10 on Thursdays and $15 for Friday,Saturday, and Sunday shows. All seating is General Admission.
